Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 egg (or a flax egg for vegan option)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll Out Dough: Dust a clean surface with gluten-free flour and gently roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Add Filling: Spread softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on top.
  7. Shape the Rolls: Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log.
  8. Cut Rolls: Use a sharp knife or dental floss to slice the log into 8 even pieces.
  9. Bake: Put the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Prepare Icing: Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  11. Serve: Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t overbake your rolls.
