A flavorful twist on traditional pasta, Gochujang Pasta combines Korean gochujang with comforting pasta for a delicious and creamy dish.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dry Fusilli Corti Bucati Pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang (Korean Red Chili Pepper Paste)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan or cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fusilli pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Stir in the gochujang and cook for another 2 minutes. Slowly add the heavy cream while stirring until well combined.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce in the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water little by little until you reach your desired consistency. The sauce should coat the pasta well.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheese and season with black pepper. Mix until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
  6. Plate the pasta, sprinkle with parsley for a touch of color, and enjoy!
