Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • Pink frosting
  • Red food coloring
  • Edible eyeballs (optional)
  • Brain mold (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Mix the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions by combining the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full to leave room for rising.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Mix the pink frosting with a few drops of red food coloring to achieve a brain-like color.
  7. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously with the pink frosting using a spatula or piping bag.
  8. Place edible eyeballs on top of the frosted cupcakes for a spooky touch, if using.
  9. Use the brain mold to create additional decorative frosting shapes for added flair.
  10. Present your delicious and creepy cupcakes at your Halloween gathering; they’ll be the star of the show!

Notes

You can substitute the chocolate cake mix with a gluten-free mix if needed. The pink frosting can be easily made from scratch or purchased pre-made for convenience.
