A delightful and healthier twist on the classic Samoa cookie, using fresh apples, caramel, and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Fuji or Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened for a healthier option)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by slicing them into thin wedges and removing the core.
  2. Dip each apple slice into the caramel sauce, coating well, then let excess caramel drip off.
  3. Roll the caramel-coated apple slices in shredded coconut until fully covered.
  4. Drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel and coconut-coated apple slices.
  5. Add chopped nuts on top of the chocolate drizzle if desired.
  6. Serve fresh as a delicious snack or dessert.

Notes

Work quickly with the caramel to prevent it from hardening, and try different toppings for more variety.
