Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white chocolate chips
Candy eyes
Instructions
Prepare the baking pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix the brownie batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
Combine the dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Bake the brownies: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Melt the white chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
Decorate the brownies: Once the brownies are cool, cut them into rectangles. Use a piping bag or a plastic zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to drizzle the melted white chocolate in a criss-cross pattern on each brownie to create the mummy’s bandages.
Add eyes: Place two candy eyes on each brownie while the white chocolate is still wet, so they stick nicely.
Notes
Stir the batter until combined to ensure fudgy brownies. For variations, consider adding nuts or using mint extract.
